Project summary
On May 1, 2024, the FolkReAct project (HUSRB/23R/22/065) started, whose full title is: "Future Of The Past - Learning From Our Culture For A Sustainable Future" - and this also reflects the project's vision: the past let's move towards a sustainable future by immersing ourselves in and learning from its experiences and popular cultural traditions. All this is realized in the cooperation of the "Bánát" Serbian Cultural Public Association in Desk and the Talentum Talent Management Art Association in Sabztka, not only for the joy and benefit of the local communities, but also, according to our plans, with the involvement of a wider interested audience, on both sides of the border and even across the border, delivering the message to the people living in the two countries. We are trying to achieve several goals during the 18 months: enriching the tourism offer of the Hungarian-Serbian border region with initiatives, programs, events and activities that impart knowledge of traditional preservation and sustainability based on the traditions of folk life and culture, and the creation of suitable spaces in Subotica and Deszka. we organize for children in the magic circles of folk crafts, dance and music, there will be small group activities organized around the events and holidays of the year, we exchange knowledge with workshops in cooperation with associations that preserve traditions, we organize festivals on both sides of the border, art lectures and performances are prepared and presented. I want to discover and share knowledge that contributes to sustainability and gives future generations knowledge that is believed to be forgotten. In Subotica, a space that is also home to folk arts is being built under the name Talentum-ház, while in Deszken Szerb Tajház and Tankert will be realized in the coming months, which interested parties can then take possession of. The project is supported by the Interreg VI-A IPA Hungary-Serbia Program (https: http://hungary-serbia.eu/; facebook.com/interreg.ipa.husrb).We also report on the project, programs and events on the www.folkreact.eu website, with detailed information, pictures and videos.
